Three-day visit to Dundee and Treasure Houses of the Tweed Valley.
Our first stop en route for a private guided visit is Mellerstain, home of the 14th Earl of Addington designed & built by Robert Adam. The next day we spend in Dundee. After a visit to The McManus museum and gallery we head to the much-feted V & A Dundee for a welcome talk, lunch and free time to explore the building and its contents. Late afternoon we visit the Verdant Works, a restored flax and jute mill for Dundee cake and to discover more about jute, the main industry of Dundee in days of yore. On our final day we head back to the great unknown house of the Borders, Marchmont which has been recently restored and won the 2018 HHA & Sotheby’s Restoration Award.
